Taruni Gandhi, Chandigarh : Just a day ahead of the result of the Punjab Assembly elections, all the parties have once again pulled up their soxes, now a strategy is being made to form the government or form an alliance.
Now the ruling Government; Congress has also announced to convene an important meeting just after the results. This will be the first meeting of the Congress Legislature Party of all new MLAs after winning theirs’ respective seats.
Congress weak in exit polls
On behalf of Punjab Congress, it has been said that this meeting of the legislature party has been called at Congress Bhawan at 5 pm on 10th March. In which all the elected MLAs are been appealed to participate. This information has been given by State Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu regarding the meeting of the Legislature Party. Sidhu is continuously meeting the central leaders before the election results.
Because this time in exit polls, Congress party is looking very weak in Punjab and Aam Aadmi Party is looking close to majority. In such a situation, only after the results, the real equations will start forming. The process of defection of MLAs can also start. That is why the Congress has already called the MLAs for the meeting.
It has been decided that the First Congress Legislative Party meeting will be held on 10th March at PPCC office (Congress Bhawan, Sector 15) at 5PM, Navjot Singh Sidhu tweeted
If we talk about the results of the exit polls, then out of the total 117 seats, the Congress seems to be getting only 22 to 28 seats. On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party can win 51 to 61 seats. That is, very close to the majority. 59 seats are needed for majority in Punjab. In the exit polls, Akali Dal is expected to get 20 to 26 seats and BJP alliance 7 to 13 seats. However, the real picture will be clear only from the results coming on March 10.
